Question 1

What areas does Marcianos Painting serve?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Boone, NC and cover the High Country and well beyond it — Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis, West Jefferson, Jefferson, Sparta, Linville, Spruce Pine, Wilkesboro, Lenoir, Morganton and Valdese. We also work the Charlotte side in Concord, Harrisburg, Midland and Mint Hill. If you're not sure whether you're in range, just call and ask.

Question 2

How much does a painting job cost?

Accepted Answer

Every house is different, so we don't quote from a price list. Cost depends on the square footage, how many doors and windows the trim has to work around, the condition of the surface underneath, and how many coats the colour change needs. We give free written estimates with the full price up front — no hidden charges once we start.

Question 3

Do you offer free estimates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We come out, walk the space, check the condition of what's there now, talk through colours and finishes, and give you a written estimate at no cost and with no obligation. Call (828) 963-0548 to schedule one.

Question 4

Do you offer a discount for new customers?

Accepted Answer

Yes — new customers get 5% off their first service with Marcianos Painting. It applies to the first project you book with us, and we'll apply it to your written estimate so you can see it before you commit. Just mention it when you call.

Question 5

What are your hours?

Accepted Answer

We're available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call (828) 963-0548 whenever it suits you — if we're up a ladder when you ring, leave a message and we'll call you straight back.

Question 6

How long will my project take?

Accepted Answer

A single room is usually a day or two. An average interior repaint runs three to five days, and a full exterior depends heavily on the weather window — we won't push a coat on when the temperature or the damp will stop it curing properly. We give you a schedule with the estimate and tell you straight away if weather moves it.

Question 7

Do I need to move my furniture?

Accepted Answer

No — that's part of the job. We move furniture to the middle of the room and cover it, paper the floors, and take off hardware and fixtures. We clean up at the end of every day rather than leaving it all to the end, and we put the room back before the final walkthrough.

Question 8

Should I repaint my cabinets or replace them?

Accepted Answer

If the boxes and doors are structurally sound, repainting gets you a new-looking kitchen for a fraction of replacement cost. Replacement makes sense when the boxes are swollen, delaminating or falling apart, or when you want a different layout. We'll tell you honestly which one your kitchen needs.

Question 9

Why does cabinet paint sometimes peel?

Accepted Answer

Almost always because of prep, not paint. Kitchen cabinets carry years of cooking grease, and if that isn't degreased off and the surface isn't scuff-sanded and bonding-primed, the finish has nothing to grip. We do all three steps every time — it's the difference between a finish that lasts and one that chips off the drawer fronts in a year.

Question 10

When is the best time of year for exterior painting?

Accepted Answer

Late spring through early autumn is the reliable window up here. Most exterior coatings need surface temperatures above about 50°F and need to dry before the overnight temperature drops, which at our elevation rules out a lot of the calendar. We'd rather reschedule than put a coat on that won't cure.

Question 11

Do you pressure wash before painting?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on every exterior. Paint will not bond to dirt, chalking or mildew, and in these damp mountain summers there is almost always some algae growth on the shaded side of a house. We wash it down, treat the growth, and let the surface dry fully before any coating goes on.

Question 12

What's the difference between staining and painting a deck?

Accepted Answer

Paint and solid stain sit on top of the wood as a film and hide the grain; semi-transparent stain soaks in and lets the grain show. Film finishes last longer but peel when they eventually fail, which means scraping before the next coat. Stain fades instead of peeling, so recoating is easier. We'll walk you through the trade-off for your deck.

Question 13

Can you match the texture on a drywall repair?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Knockdown, orange peel and smooth are all matchable, and matching the texture is what makes a patch disappear. An unmatched repair shows through the finish coat under any side light, no matter how good the paint job is.

Question 14

Is Marcianos Painting insured?

Accepted Answer

Please ask us directly when you call and we'll tell you exactly what coverage is in place for your project before any work starts. We'd rather you hear it from us straight than read a claim on a website.

Question 15

Do you speak Spanish?

Accepted Answer

Sí. Marciano Martinez and the crew speak both English and Spanish, so you can discuss your project comfortably in either language. Hablamos español — llámenos al (828) 963-0548.
